Global Sourcing Demands & Industrial Realities

Understanding the macroeconomic and technical landscapes driving the procurement of high-performance extruded aluminum heatsinks.

Thermal Density Escalation

As microprocessors, IGBT modules, high-power LEDs, and electric vehicle (EV) drivetrains shrink, localized heat density escalates. Extruded aluminum heatsinks with tailored alloys like AL6063-T5 or AL6060 offer thermal conductivity rates up to 201 W/m·K, satisfying extreme cooling requirements.

Supply Chain Diversification

International procurement teams in North America, Europe, and Asia demand manufacturing sources that mitigate geopolitical risks, guarantee strict raw material pedigree, and possess certifications such as ISO 9001:2015 and SA8000 for social accountability.

Custom OEM/ODM Engineering

Off-the-shelf thermal components rarely meet advanced electronic footprint requirements. The contemporary demand centers on custom tooling, precise fin-density geometry, custom hollow profiles, and exact CNC machining (tolerances within ±0.005mm) for direct-die contact surfaces.

Macro-Industry Solutions & Thermal Architectures

B2B Procurement & Technical FAQ

Review details on lead times, material compliance, order quantities, and custom tooling setup.

What aluminum alloys are primarily used for extrusion profiles, and how do you ensure thermal efficiency?
We typically utilize AL6063, AL6061, and AL6060 alloys. AL6063 is standard for extruded heatsinks due to its high thermal conductivity (~201 W/m·K) and excellent surface finish capabilities. Extrusion dies are optimized using thermal flow analysis software to achieve thin fin profiles, maximizing overall surface area relative to weight.
What are your baseline wholesale prices and how are they calculated?
Pricing is established transparently, calculated using raw metal market indices (e.g., LME/SHFE prices) plus direct manufacturing fabrication costs, custom tooling amortization, surface treatments, and packaging. We provide a detailed cost breakdown for each project. Please contact our sales team with your drawings for a current quote.
Do you enforce a Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) for custom heatsink profiles?
Yes, custom extrusions generally require a minimum run of 500kg to 1 ton per profile to align with extrusion press tooling set-up parameters. For CNC secondary machining of standard profiles, we accept smaller runs depending on complexity. Trial sample runs are executed before full production begins.
What is your typical lead time for custom tooling and mass production?
Tooling design, fabrication, and initial sample production are completed in approximately 10 to 14 days. Once samples are approved, standard mass production takes 20 to 30 days depending on order volume and the required CNC and surface finish configurations.
What quality documentation and inspection files do you provide?
We supply complete quality documentation, including Material Test Certificates (MTC) detailing chemical and mechanical properties, CMM dimensional inspection maps, surface roughness reports, and Certificate of Conformance (CoC). International export documentation and certificates of origin are also provided.
What payment terms do you support for international B2B orders?
We support standard international transaction terms: 30% deposit payment upon order confirmation, with the remaining 70% balance payable upon presentation of the copy of the Bill of Lading (B/L). We accept bank wire transfers (T/T), L/C, Western Union, and PayPal.
How does your factory protect custom heatsinks from damage during shipment?
Every heatsink profile is separated using custom PE foam inserts or plastic divider sleeves to prevent fin deformation and surface abrasion. Bulk components are packed in heavy-duty multi-wall corrugated master cartons, which are then secured onto IPPC-fumigated wooden pallets with plastic strapping and protective shrink wrap.
