Industrial Context: Why Aluminium Hot Forging?

The metallurgical advantage of closed-die hot forging over casting for critical load-bearing applications

Microstructural Integrity

Unlike casting, which can suffer from internal porosity and dendritic segregation, hot forging refines the grain structure of aluminium alloys. The mechanical deformation under temperature aligns the grain flow with the geometry of the component, resulting in superior tensile strength, impact toughness, and fatigue resistance.

Weight-to-Strength Optimization

For modern aerospace, electric vehicle (EV), and safety instrumentation industries, reducing mass while maintaining structural performance is key. Hot forged aluminium alloys (such as 6000 and 7000 series) deliver mechanical properties comparable to structural steel at approximately one-third of the weight.

Near-Net-Shape Capabilities

Our closed-die hot forging processes produce parts that closely match final design specifications. This minimizes raw material waste and reduces the post-forge CNC machining cycles required, optimizing the total cost of ownership (TCO) for mass manufacturing runs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Technical and commercial answers to help streamline your sourcing process

What are your typical pricing structures?
Our pricing is structured based on direct material weights, alloy indices, tool complexity, and post-forging operations (such as heat treatment, CNC machining, and surface finishes like anodizing). We update our prices regularly to align with global aluminum spot market rates.
Do you require a Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ)?
Yes. Because setting up closed-die hot forging presses (including die alignment, temperature calibration, and material staging) is a complex process, we require a minimum order volume for production runs. Please contact our sales team to discuss options for low-volume runs during prototyping stages.
Can you supply full quality and material documentation?
Yes, every shipment includes complete compliance documentation. This includes material mill certificates (detailing chemical composition and mechanical properties), heat treatment verification sheets, dimensional reports from our CMM inspections, and export documentation like certificates of origin.
What is your average lead time for tooling and mass production?
Prototype tool development and initial sample generation typically take about 7 days after final design approval. Mass production runs are completed within 20 to 30 days of receiving the deposit payment and drawing sign-off.
What terms of payment do you accept?
Our standard commercial payment terms are a 30% deposit to initiate raw material acquisition and tooling setup, with the remaining 70% balance paid against copies of the shipping Bill of Lading (B/L). We accept bank wire transfers (T/T), Western Union, and PayPal.
How do you guarantee safe and secure delivery of products?
We use heavy-duty export packaging designed to prevent damage during transit. For forged and CNC machined components, we use custom plastic-molded trays, anti-corrosive VCI packing materials, and reinforced wooden crates to ensure all products arrive at your facility in perfect condition.
